The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation, with support from the Kessler Foundation, is proud to announce a FREE summer workshop for college-bound students with a mobility disability who are entering 9th through 12th grade in September of 2014. Called “The College Career Ready Academy”, this four-day summer experience will ensure that these students are motivated to perform at the peak of their ability so they will excel in the colleges and careers they choose. Because of the academic-heavy message of the program, students entering their senior year in September 2014 should meet minimum academic requirements to participate in the workshop:
· Successful completion of Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry,
· Biology, Chemistry (also having Physics is a plus),
· 2 years of the same world language,
· 3 years of college-prep English,
· and 2-3 years of Social Studies.
The workshop will be launched by Scott Chesney, one of the top motivational speakers in the world. http://www.scottchesney.com/
Throughout the week of July 7 through 10, participants will be immersed in business simulation games, hear from college admissions officials, develop a plan for optimal high school outcomes, and earn credentials that will help build their resumes.
For the comfort of our participants, a semi-private stretching area will be available each day. In addition, extended breaks are built into the agenda to provide ample time to attend to personal needs.
This workshop is FREE to attendees but registration is limited to 30 and will be on a first come, first served basis.
