The Hinkle, Fingles & Prior law firm devotes its entire practice to serving people with disabilities, the elderly, and their families. In this workshop, participants will learn how to apply for and maximize a range of government benefits and how to utilize private resources and assets to supplement services. Ms. Fischer will discuss SSI, SSDI, and Medicaid; how self-directed funding can be used to purchase care; the role of insurance in funding a trust; and how families can pool resources to create individualized services and programs.

As the mother of a daughter with multiple disabilities, Maria Fischer’s legal work focuses on guardianship, estate planning, and helping families of adults with disabilities access and retain appropriate services. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars.
